1. Click on the "Tools" menu option and then click "Internet Options...".

| For MSIE 7.x: |

1. Click on the "Tools" menu option and then click "Internet Options...".

| 2. Select the Content tab, then click the
Certificates... button. |
| |

| 3. Select the certificate you want to export and click on the Export
button. NOTE: You can tell an Identity (ID) certificate from an Encryption (Encrypt)
certificate by expanding the "Issued to" column. |

4. When the Certificate Export Wizard pops up, click on the Next > button.

5. Select Yes, export the private key and click the Next > button.
CAUTION: it is possible to make 'copy' of
your certificate that does not include the certificate Private Key, but it will NOT be a BACKUP
copy. If you can not select Yes, export the private key, contact the
ECA Help Desk.

| 6. Make sure the Personal Information
Exchange selector is selected and the 'Enable strong protection check
box is checked. Click the Next > button. |

7. Assign (and confirm) a password to protect the
certificate backup (.pfx) file that you are about to create. Click the Next > button.

| 8. Click the Browse... button. |

9. Navigate to where you want the backup file saved. If you are not sure where
to save the file, click the Desktop and you can move the file later.
(Ultimately, you want this file OFF of your computer, so that you will not lose it if your hard drive fails.
Put it on a server that gets backed up, or on a flash drive, or CD, etc.)
Enter a file name.
We recommend that you make the filename "yourlastname_ECA_ID (or EN)_YY"
use ID for your IDentity certificate and EN for you ENcryption certifate. YY should be the year that the
certificate will expire; "08" for 2008.
Make sure the Save as type: pulldown reads 'Personal Information Exchange (*.pfx.)
Click the Save button and then click the Next button. |

| 10. Click the Finish button. |
| 11. Enter the password that protects the currently installed certificate
in order to export the certificate.
This is not necessarily the password entered in step 7, but is
the password that was assigned when the certificate was first requested or when last installed from a
backup file Click the OK button. |

| 12. You should see "The export was successful". |
| |
 |
| |
| 13. If you did not save the file to a location OFF of your computer, then you
will need to move the file as soon as possible. A file server that is automatically, backed up
is an ideal place for you certificate backup file. Another option is to move the file to
removable media (ie.- floppy disk, zip disk, CD, flash drive or memory stick) and store the
removable media in a secure location. |
